Expectations on DC’s upcoming film, Wonder Woman movie, are getting bigger. This comes after Suicide Squad and Batman vs Superman have failed to impress critics. It seems, however, that a cast member is also looking up to the female superhero’s standalone film.
Fans who watched Suicide Squad believe that it’s one of the best films of 2016. After the film got a low rating on Rotten Tomatoes, avid fans decided to launch a petition for the popular movie review site to shut down. However, fans have found an ally in Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. She tweeted how the movie’s great and awesome. Of course, she claimed that she would still say the same even if she weren’t part of DC’s world.
Now, a Suicide Squad cast member revealed her love for the Amazonian Princess. Viola Davis, who played as the squad’s “mortal puppet master”, admitted that her ultimate superhero is Wonder Woman.
“Wonder Woman was my hero, that was it for me. By the way, I’m going to be there first day, opening day of Wonder Woman, absolutely, hands down. Superman, all the DC Comics, and I’m not just saying that because I’m doing Suicide Squad. I just was in love,” Davis said, USA Today reported.
In addition, Davis explained how the Amazonian Princess had an impact on her childhood experience. The actress admitted that she was a victim of bullying.
“If I could be Wonder Woman I could take care of all the bullies,” Davis thought to herself.
Of course, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot and Director Patty Jenkins won’t trade their roles to anyone. The Israeli actress admitted how much she loves playing the role of Diana Prince. Meanwhile, Director Patty Jenkins feels honored to bring the film to the big screen as she had the idea about it eight years ago.
