‘Wolverine 3’ Movie R-Rated; ‘Violent’ Wolverine Featured?

Wolverine 3

“Wolverine 3” will be an R-Rated movie. This, producer Simon Kinberg himself confirmed. Just how different will the next movie about this iconic mutant be?

In an interview with Collider, Kinberg said “Wolverine 3” will be “a very radical, bold” movie. The “X-Men: Apocalypse” writer and producer also confirmed that the movie is set to receive an R-Rating. “It takes place in the future,” Kinberg said. “And as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent. It’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”

Cinema Blend points out that an R rating might be good for the movie overall. “Wolverine is another member of the X-Men that would benefit from this creative freedom,” Cinema Blend said. “An R-rated film should include much more violent scenes and deaths…[The movie] should [also be able to show] his acerbic and dry wit deployed in a, hopefully, funnier manner.”

Fans might also see a Logan in this next film different from how he was in previous “X-Men” movies. He is a “different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies,” Kinberg said.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that Patrick Stewart will be joining the third solo “Wolverine” film. Kinberg, however, neither confirmed nor denied this. “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that,” he said. “I will agree with you that [he] was rumoured to be a part of that film.”

The title of “Wolverine 3” has yet to be confirmed. The movie will also star Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, and Eriq Lasalle. “Narcos” actor Boyd Holbrook, meanwhile, will join the cast as the principal villain. What would Holbrook’s character do to Wolverine exactly? Fans will have to wait until next year to find out.“Wolverine 3” will hit the big screen on March 3, 2017.
