Will Smith denied rumors that he and wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, are divorcing.
The actor took to Facebook to dismiss the rumors that their relationship is on the rocks, saying: “I promise you all – if I ever decide to divorce my Queen – I SWEAR I’ll tell you myself!”
The RadarOnline.com reported that the A-list couple is ending their marriage with a $240 million divorce deal.
It quoted a source saying, “For Will and Jada, holding it together these past few years has been tough because their marriage has been on life support for a long time.”
In June, Pinkett Smith talked about their almost two decades of relationship and told Howard Stern that she is giving her husband freedom.
The “Gotham” star said, “You gotta trust who you’re with and at the end of the day, right, I’m not here to be anybody’s watcher. I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man. Will is a man of integrity so he’s got all the freedom in the world. … As long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be OK, I’m good.”
In an interview with American Way magazine, Jada said, “Every year there’s a new one. And I’m like, ‘Here we go. Get ready. Are ya holdin’ on tight?'”
“Marriages go through shifts. And relationships go through shifts because in life, things shift. So people are automatically like, ‘What’s going on? They must be getting a divorce.’ Well, no. But when people feel those shifts and there’s a mystery, they have to fill it with something,” she added.
Rumors of their split have been circulating for years. In 2013, Smith allegedly romanced his “Focus” co-star Margot Robbie, RadarOnline.com wrote. Pinkett Smith also allegedly cheated in 2011 with “HawthoRNe” co-star Marc Anthony, it added.
The couple married in 1997 and has two children together – Jaden, 17, and Willow, 14. Will has an 18-year-old son from previous marriage.
