The app manages over 30 million messages on a daily basis. It gathered a lot of attention when Facebook bought it for $19 billion.

In spite of being active users, people are still an inch away to be called masters of it. So, here are the top five tips and tricks that can make master the app.

1. Use of Formatting in Messages

Until now, you were only aware of the plain text. Well, WhatsApp Messenger has incorporated an option of formatting, which will allow you to use bold, italics and strikethrough options in your messages. The features are easy to use once you have 2.12.535 version on Android and 2.12.17 version on iOS.

To get the bold text, put asterisks on either side of the text: (*Bold*)

For italics, use underscore: (_Italic_)

For, strikethrough: (~tilde~)

2. Backup and Restore Your Conversation

This feature enables you to save all your messages in case you lose or change your smartphone. In some cases, the backup can automatically be done in a few weeks or days. You can also manually backup your messages.

For iOS users: open Settings menu and tap Chats > Chat Backup and tap ‘Back Up Now’.

Android users: Settings > Chats > Chat Backup and tap “Back Up”. You can also backup via WhatsApp servers or via google account.

3. Check out your best friend in WhatsApp

Now it will be easy for you to pick up your best friend with whom you talk to the most on WhatsApp Messenger.Thanks to this feature you don’t have to do a lot of scrolling to find your best pal on the app.

To check out the number of messages you have sent to WhatsApp users, go to Settings > Account > Storage Usage and there you go.

This feature is only available for iOS, but not yet for Android.

4. Mute irritating Chats

Tired of annoying and sleazy chats? Want to avoid it without being offensive? Don’t worry Whats App will help you to mute chats. All you need to do is: open the group chat > tap the group’s name >  then tap mute (select the duration)

5. You can use tablet, PC or Mac to reply to messages

The web feature of Whats App will allow you to reply to the messages by using a tablet, PC or Mac. For PC or Mac, go to web.whatsapp.com. Use the QR reader you built in WhatsApp for iOS and Android and scan the QR code on the website.
