“Wayward Pines” finale this Thursday will be total mayhem.

The trailer features Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon), his wife Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon), and Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino) leading the town people in a war for their survival, the Christian Today reported.

Dr. David Pilcher (Toby Jones) will shut down all of the power in town after hearing Sheriff Burke telling the truth in the town square. This will allow the monstrous aberrations or “Abbies” to invade the town.

In the finale teaser, Kate (Carla Gugino) says, “It’s all-out war,” while Ben (Charlie Tahan) says “[There’s] a lot of gunfire, a lot of Abbies…not too many survivors.”

When asked about the theme of the finale episode titled “Cycle”, “Wayward Pines” executive producer Chad Hodge says, “You get what you pay for,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

The International Business Times wrote the official synopsis for the season finale as follows:

After Pilcher decides to turn off the electricity in Wayward Pines – with deadly repercussions – Ethan and Kate take the initiative to make sure everyone is out of harm’s way. Meanwhile, Nurse Pam confronts Pilcher on his decision and tries to convince him to reconsider, Ethan and Kate plan for an attack and the first generation tries to protect the future of Wayward Pines by taking matters into their own hands in the all-new “Cycle” season finale episode.

The International Business Times said the final episode seems to be heading towards an ending that is just like in the Blake Crouch book.

In the book, the Abbies kill many people from the town but Ethan and around 250 others manage to force them back outside and get the fence working again. This ending could possibly set up season 2, the International Business Times said.

Deadline reported that Fox is interested in the possibility of season 2 but with different characters and cast.
