The ‘xXx3’ production is well underway, with action star Vin Diesel and his fellow actors busy shooting scenes for the movie. The crew is currently in Toronto where Diesel, along with Samuel L. Jackson, recently shot a scene in a downtown church, E! Online reported. Jackson reprises his role as Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons.
However, the production break was a revelation when tough guy Vin Diesel confessed his deepest desire to everyone, E! Online noted.
“We are filming a scene in a church and I had a dream that the film would include a choir,” Diesel told everyone on set. Hence, Diesel performed “Oh Happy Day” together with Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale. “I just wanted to say that a dream of mine always, has been to have the confidence to sing in a choir. Although my grandmother would take me to the choir every weekend, I never had that little bit of confidence to get up there and sing,” Diesel told the choir. Entertainment Weekly described his performance as a “passionate rendition of the gospel standard.”
The publication pointed out Diesel’s many talents. Aside from being a professional breakdancer, he’s also a music lover. He sang his tribute to the late Paul Walker at the recent People’s Choice Awards. Entertainment Weekly also recalled his Facebook post that showed him singing “Dark Horse” by Katy Perry. In the same video, he also showed his moves to “Drunk in Love” by Beyoncé.
Uproxx remarked that the video is a must-see despite Diesel’s off-key pitch. The news agency also revealed that it was Diesel’s dream to have a church scene with a choir. “We went through thousands of choirs to select which choir would be in the movie, and the choir that we ultimately chose was the Sharon Riley and the Faith Chorale,” Diesel added.
