“Batman vs Superman” is the newest offering from DC Comics. The movie premièred last March 25 to the thrill of anticipating fans. However, the hype about the movie may have fallen below their expectations.
The reviews of “Batman vs Superman” that came out after the launch were upsetting, Variety reported. The website cited an interview of Yahoo Movies with the movie’s lead actors.
In the video clip, Cavill defended the movie from critics’ reviews.
“What is really going to matter, I believe, is what the audience says. Because they’re the ones who are buying tickets, they’re the ones who want to see more of this kind of story or not and so the audience’s voice is loudest and after this weekend the audience, at least partly, will have spoken,” the actor who portrayed Superman said.
However, Affleck who sat Cavill appeared saddened by the reviews. The actor who portrayed Batman was only human and his pain over the slam was evident.
“I agree,” was Affleck’s only words as he leaned on Cavill’s defense Variety noted.
It appears the look on Affleck’s face during the interview was too priceless to pass up. YouTube user Sabconth recut the clip and posted it online. He also added music from Simon & Garfunkel. The result is a viral video that’s may get better reviews than “Batman vs Superman”, WTHR reported.
To date, responses to “Sad Affleck” cover the whole spectrum of social media.
Here are tweets from people about it.
Instagram posts also spoke about it.
YouTube also had its share of clips about it.
Affleck revealed earlier that’s he’s always wanted to play the Caped Crusader on the big screen. He noted how doing so would impress his son. Hence, criticism of the movie might be hard to take.
So far, the reactions of moviegoers and critics to the movie are mixed.
