Amidst the Rolling Stones controversial interview, 5SOS rocks another live performance of their smash hit “Hey Everybody.”
The song, which is included on their sophomore album “Sounds Good Feels Good” has been played at “Conan” on Monday evening, reports MTV News. However, the quartet from the Land Down Under performed the song in acoustic.
“The crazy thing? It sounds even better acoustically, a fact 5SOS keeps reinforcing with every new stripped-down performance they do,” writes MTV News.
Since then, the unplugged version of the popular song is now the fans’ favorite. Watch some of their performances below:
On the other hand, there are some reports claiming that One Direction’s stardom is over, and 5SOS will be the next big thing on pop industry. Notably, the British lads announced their “indefinite hiatus” months ago and released “Made in the AM” before parting ways for the meantime.
According to Vulture, it seems that 1D appeared tired on their On the Road Again stadium world tour last summer. “It felt like saying goodbye before the end,” as the site wrote.
Meanwhile, the site author notes that 5SOS succeeded on their aim to bring back guitars on the radio. However, the rock group being tagged as a boyband has been the struggle that they wanted to overcome.
“Seventy-five percent of our lives is proving we’re a real band,” drummer Irwin tells Rolling Stone. “We’re getting good at it now. We don’t want to just be, like, for girls. We want to be for everyone.”
The author concluded that 5SOS can fill One Direction’s hole. “5SOS can fill the boy-band-shaped hole in your heart — if you’re willing to break the mold a little.”
5 Seconds of Summer’s newest album can be download via iTunes. “Sounds Good Feels Good” carries the hit singles “She’s Kinda Hot,” “Hey Everybody,” and “Jet Black Heart” to name a few.
