The Golden State Warriors will play the Portland Trail Blazers in the Game 2 of the NBA Play-Offs series on Tuesday, May 3, at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, starting 10:30 PM ET.
As per the official NBA reports, the Warriors have taken a 1-0 lead in the Game 1 of the Round 2 series. Andrew Bogut was particularly impressive in the 118-106 win over the Trail Blazers in Sunday night’s game. The Warriors would like to go up 2-0 in Tuesday night’s game, thus carrying the incredible form.
“It’s very important we don’t give up just layups early in the game,” Bogut said. “We’re trying to protect the paint and make sure they get nothing easy early.”
The Warriors are still without Steph Curry, but that didn’t stop the others from making a mark.
Blazers’ Damian Lillard, who was suffering from a chest cold, commented before the match, “I’ve always said there are no excuses. The bottom line is my team needs me to perform better than I did. Tomorrow, I’ve got to be better. I will be. Our team will be better.”
“We’ve just got to understand that they are a good first-quarter team. We’ve got to be better from the start of the game,” Lillard further stated said. “So once we fix that and continue to compete the way we did, we’ll have a chance.”
As per the media notes, Portland coach Terry Stotts was hopeful that his team would come back in the second game. Beating the Warriors at the Oracle Arena wouldn’t be an easy task, but still optimism might be the key.
