The Golden State Warriors will host the Houston Rockets in the fifth game of the NBA Play-Offs series at the Oracle Arena in Oakland on Wednesday, April 27, starting 10:30 p.m. ET.
The Warriors took a 3-1 lead in the series after beating the Rockets 121-94 at the Toyota Center yesterday in Houston. But everything is not right in the Warriors’ camp. Steph Curry’s injury has taken a heavy toll on him, ruling him out of the fourth game. According to the NBA official reports, the injury looks serious and may rule him out of the entire series.
“When you have a team that is as together as ours is and cares about each other like ours does, you tend to pick up the fight a little bit,” coach Steve Kerr said. “Our guys sensed that we needed to come together.”
The Warriors will be hosting the fifth game of the series in their own backyard. They have already shown that their team doesn’t depend on Curry. He did return after missing out on two games but was seen sitting out on the bench through the entire second half. He is going to have an MRI on Monday.
“I was trying to raise our level of intensity,” said Thompson, who finished with 23 points. “When you play with emotion and play for your teammates, you can really get going. If we have that same emotion and intensity on Wednesday, we should be successful.”
James Harden was not impressed with the Rockets’ performance. “Terrible way, terrible way, terrible way to lose … just a terrible quarter and that’s what gave the game away,” Harden said.
