Who really died in the hands of Negan in the season 6 finale of “The Walking Dead?”

According to Hollywood Life, AMC has released the clip of the last two minutes of the “intense” episode. However, the video still did not reveal which character was beaten to death with Negan’s bat Lucille.

“When we reveal who’s on the receiving end, that’s going to be the start of another story,” show runner Scott Gimple was quoted as saying. Not everyone was happy about the cliffhanger ending, though. The Daily Beast even called it a “half-ending” that was not particularly satisfying.  “A half-season of constant Negan talk…sputtered out in a half-ending that [seems] designed to deprive anyone the satisfaction of having predicted the big death,” Daily Beast said.

Meanwhile, actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on the show, told Variety that the final moment in the scene was “scripted as a POV.” He also described filming the finale as “a pretty traumatic and intense and weird two nights.” He also commended Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s performance as Negan. “It’s an astonishing scene and I thought [Morgan] was just magnificent and magnetic in it.”

Meanwhile, the actor hinted that he is friends with the character Negan chose to kill in the season finale. “It’s so intense and so traumatic to be losing a friend. It’s not just a professional relationship, it’s a personal relationship. So we all decide to not talk about it when this happens,” the actor said.

It was earlier reported that Negan has a habit of killing one member of every group he encounters to prove how serious he is. Which among the members of Rick’s group did Negan beat to death in the finale? Fans will really have to wait until “Walking Dead” comes back for Season 7 in October to find out.
