Gwen Stefani is coming back to “The Voice” and will be reunited with boyfriend Blake Shelton on TV.
However, as to when she will be coming back and on what capacity, only NBC knows.
Us Weekly wrote, citing a source, Blake proposed to the network to bring back Gwen Stefani as mentor to his team on the upcoming season 10 of “The Voice.”
The 39-year-old country singer earlier admitted that he wants the “No Doubt” singer to stay in the NBC reality singing competition. “I don’t want Gwen to not be on the show. Why can’t we have a fifth coach?” he told Extra at the time.
Gwen Stefani and Shelton co-starred on the “The Voice”and fell in love while mentoring aspiring singers. Gwen couldn’t be on season 1o since Christina Aguilera is returning to fill Stefani’s coach chair.
E! News reported that NBC confirmed that Gwen Stefani would definitely be back at some point in the show but as to when exactly, NBC presidents Bob Greenblatt and Paul Telegdy couldn’t say for sure.
When asked if she might return as an adviser for Blake’s team, Greenblatt responded with a “maybe”.
“We’re announcing those advisers in the next couple of weeks but she’s very close to the show,” Greenblatt said.
“We don’t know yet. We know what we’re doing in the spring, because the diva’s back, Christina’s coming back, and for the fall, we’ve got the Olympics, so I would only tease that yes, there will probably be some familiar faces. As I say, we like to switch it up, so I think there will be some fresh faces too,” Telegdy said when asked if Gwen will return for the fall season.
One thing is sure though, Shelton and Adam Levine will be coming back. “They’ll be back in the fall 100%,” Telegdy said.
“The Voice” season 10 will debut on February 29 at 8 p.m.
