“The Voice” Australia Season 4 coaches Benji and Joel Madden revealed their advantage over their rival coaches as the competition nears its live finals.
In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, coaches Benji and Joel Madden said being twins is their main advantage over the other coaches.
“Definitely there is an advantage, we do share the workload and it is a little easier having a partner so I guess it is a little of an unfair advantage,” laughs Joel. “And if we win, I guess it’ll just be unfair,” he added.
“Life ain’t fair baby!” seconded Benji.
Joel admitted that there were some disagreements between him and his brother but it is always fun working together.
“It’s a lot of fun, we obviously have a good time together but it’s also cool because working on the show together I think people get a little bit of an inside look on what it’s like for (us) brothers to work together and what it’s like to work with us in the studio,” Joel told the Daily Mail.
This is the first time the twins sat as coaches on the adult version of “The Voice”. Joel returns for his fifth run on the show while Benji appeared on the season one of the show’s kids’ version in Australia last year.
Benji said working with adult contestants is much more serious compared to their time on “The Voice Kids,” Daily Mail Australia wrote.
“With kids it’s not serious, you just want the kids to have a good time so it was all about fun,” the singer said.
The Maddens also consider Australia their “second home.”
“It’s definitely a second home, Sydney is definitely a second home,” said Joel. His wife, Nicole Richie, and their two young children frequently flew over to see him on location.
“We get along so well here,” added Benji, who is married to actress Cameron Diaz.
“The Voice” Australia live finals kicked off with a launch party on Thursday.
