The Voice 2016 Miley Cyrus Disses Mariah Carey? She’s ‘Never Really Been a Fan’

The Voice 2016

The Voice 2016 coach Miley Cyrus is not a fan of Mariah Carey.

In one interview, Cyrus compared herself to the Butterfly hitmaker and said she and Carey are totally different.  Cyrus remark about Carey stemmed from comment she made to a contestant on The Voice 2016 about how not everyone can be Carey.

We get that. The question however is why Cyrus is not a fan?

Elle magazine asked Cyrus about it and singer is not shy to share her opinion about her fellow artist.  “I’ve never really been a fan, because it’s so much about Mariah Carey. That’s part of her shtick; I can see through that. That’s part of what makes her a gay icon; like, it’s about Mimi! It’s about what she’s wearing, and it’s about her. What I make isn’t about me. It’s about sharing my story; it’s about someone being connected to what I’m saying,” she told the magazine.

Carey has been known for her talent but also of her glamorous wardrobe and living.  Earlier this month, Carey’s brother Morgan came forward and accused the Honey hitmaker of abandoning their sister. Morgan slammed the pop diva and called her selfish for abandoning their struggling sister Alison. Carey’s sister was recently released after being arrested for prostitution.

Meanwhile, Cyrus also revealed that she can’t stand sad stories of contestants in The Voice 2016. She stressed that the contestants need to have good voice not only a good life story to win competition.

The Wrecking Ball also confessed to Elle her main reason of joining The Voice 2016 and kind of hilarious.  Cyrus said she signed up for the NBC show is because she wants to push the button.

Cyrus’ Elle cover will be out next month.

The Voice 2016 airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
