Fans have not yet recovered from the bad news that Vampire Diaries Season 8 would be the last for the hit CW series. Now, another sad news comes along – the death of a major character this season.

Kat Graham has hinted that in the middle of the upcoming season, someone is going to die.  “Not in the season premiere — but, you know, midway through, someone’s kickin’ the bucket,” the actress said. Graham, who plays Bonnie in the series, along with Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Candice King and Matt Davis, is among the first show stars since it started in 2009.

Since executive producer Julie Plec already confirmed that Season 8 will be the last for TVD, basically everyone in the show could die. Alaric and Matt are always in danger and most likely to die this season, International Business Times noted. The upcoming season will also pick up on Enzo and Damon under the power of some evil entity, hence they may also be in danger this season.

Despite the impending end, Graham assured fans that Season 8 will have solid storylines and will even introduce new characters. She teased that the new villain is a female and she knows the actress who will be playing the role, The Hollywood Reporter wrote.

The Vampire Diaries has been rumored to end since last year after Dobrev left the show and TVD’s rating started to plunge. Dobrev played the role of Elena Gilbert.  Now that the show is finally wrapping up, are we going to see the return of Elena? Is she going to be the female villain? Is Damon-Elena reunion finally happening? In the finale of the previous season, Damon entered a vault where he saw a shadow. He was heard uttering “Elena?”

Plec has earlier hinted that it wouldn’t be all darkness in Mystic Falls in Season 8. She even teased that some characters might live happily ever after.

For many, this is enough reason not to miss The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premiere on Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
