Good news, “The Vampire Diaries” fans! The CW just handed early renewals for 11 series and “The Vampire Diaries” is included in the list despite reports that this is the last season.

Entertainment Weekly reports that aside from “The Vampire Diaries,” other shows that were renewed includes superhero favorites such as “The Flash,” “Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow.” Fan favorite supernatural shows such as “Supernatural,” “The Originals” and “The Vampire Diaries” will also get to live another season. Other shows that are included in the early renewals are “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” Emmy-winning series “Jane the Virgin,” “iZombie,” “Reign” and “The 100.”

Deadline reports that “The Vampire Diaries” leads Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, whose contracts are up after this season, have signed for one more year and are set to come back next season.

Although the network renewed everything that’s on air right now, that doesn’t mean all of the shows will debut this fall. Fans can expect some of their shows to come back midseason or ever in the summer of 2017.

“The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television, with a wide array of fantastically scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas,” said CW president Mark Pedowitz.

“As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016–2017 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017,” he added.

The renewal of “The Vampire Diaries” have been a surprise to fans who have been expecting the show to end since Elena died. Some of them only thought the other season was to wrap things up. Although the show is now focusing on other characters and their stories more than the usual romance angle, “The Vampire Diaries” is still declining in viewership every year according to a report from Deadline.
