“The Vampire Diaries” season seven’s ratings is finally picking up.
According to Yibada, the recent episode of TVD, titled “Moonlight on the Bayou,” helped boost the show’s number of viewers.
The said episode, which was a crossover to “The Originals,” featured Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) talking on the phone to his former flame Caroline Forbes (Candice King) in the flash-forward. It can be recalled that in episode 13, Caroline told her children that they were headed to New Orleans “to visit Mommy’s friend,” International Business Times wrote.
The previous episode also showed Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) heading to New Orleans. While there, Klaus gave Stefan some advice on how he should handle his relationship with Caroline.
According to TV By the Numbers, the episode 14 of “The Vampire Diaries” seventh season received a 0.5 rating and a total of 1.17 million viewers. “The Vampire Diaries” rose a tenth from previous week ratings, the site added. However, even if the CW series’ numbers have increased, its current season is still the lowest-rated show at the 8 p.m. time slot last week.
It was previously reported that the show might be cancelled after it was transferred to a new time slot and its rating slide after Nina Dobrev left the show. TVD star Ian Somerhalder also hinted that the CW show’s current season may be its last.
Meanwhile, viewer will see in the upcoming episode 15 Stefan and Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore) searching for an herb that can help keep Stefan hidden from the hunter Rayna (Leslie-Anne Huff). Stefan will also question his future with Caroline, while Matt’s (Zach Roerig) hatred of vampires at Mystic Falls could put his life at risk.
Bonnie (Kat Graham) will also find out about Damon Salvatore’s (Ian Somerhalder) plans, and will try to stop him from tracking down the vampire huntress, Yibada wrote.
It was previously reported that executive producer Julie Plec said Bonnie and Damon’s friendship will be put to the test in the upcoming episodes.
“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, episode 15 airs Friday (Marc 4) at 9 p.m. EST on CW.
