‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Finale: Damon Dies As Elena Wakes Up?

Vampire Diaries

Does Elena wake up at the end of “Vampire Diaries” season 7? When she does, will Damon be there by her side?

Numerous questions about the show’s season finale abound, the Inquisitr reported. The website noted the possible return of Nina Dobrev. The same post also suggested that Ian Somerhalder might be leaving the show.

However, Celebrity Dirty Laundry revealed that Dobrev has her sights on “The Originals”.

Rumours about Damon’s departure surfaced after the release of a promotional video for “Days of Future Past”, IBT reported.

In the video, Rayna tells Stefan that he needs to let go of Damon in order to be completely free. She went on to ask him, “Are finally ready to leave Damon behind?”

“Yes,” Stefan replied.

Ian Somerhalder directed “Days of Future Past”. His directorial debut with TVD was in season six for “The Downward Spiral”.

IBT noted that Somerhalder has not made an official statement about his character’s fate. In February, he cleared rumours about the show’s cancellation. At the time, he said the show’s fate remained unknown.

However, would he still leave the show after its renewal for season 8?

TV Series Finale recently revealed the renewal of “Vampire Diaries” for an eighth season. The website noted that the move of The CW Network finally puts to rest speculations that TVD ends with season 7.

News of its likely cancellation came up after its reschedule to Friday nights. However, Entertainment Weekly noted that the move might have helped improve viewer ratings.

According to the website, “The Julie Plec vampire dramas have improved Friday night by 39 percent in total viewers and 60 percent in the demo versus the same time last year.”

Many hoped to see the reunion of Damon and Elena in “Vampire Diaries”. In fact, the show’s writers managed to keep Nina Dobrev’s character alive despite her exit.

However, Dobrev already closed the doors on a possible return. Last year, she told Entertainment Weekly, “That chapter has closed, sadly – bittersweet”.
