“Vampire Diaries” fans are hoping to see Nina Dobrev back on the small screen. Some reports noted that the Bulgarian actress will either return as Elena Gilbert or Katherine Pierce. However, it seems the show is already looking for a new villain to fill in the Petrova’s shoes.

Following Nina Dobrev’s exit, Mystic Falls had to deal with Lily and the heretics as well as vampire hunter Rayna. And as the show progresses to its eight season, reports teased the arrival of two new characters on The CW show. One seems to be a new love interest for Damon while the other is an immortal who sounds like a mix of Katherine Pierce and Silas. Yup, the crazy Silas who fell for Amara and launched hundreds of doppelgängers.

According to TV Line, this new character will set foot on the premiere episode of Season 8. The publication noted that the show is looking for someone to play Sybil. She is “an immortal who uses her immeasurable power and influence to control other people, manipulating them into twisted games and tests for her own amusement and glorification.” Don’t you think she’s a deadly combination of Silas and Katherine?

However, the site alluded that she will either be a “friend or a foe.” There’s also a possibility that she can be both. Do you think she can lure in the Salvatore brothers?

Meanwhile, the other character teased to make an appearance this season is Seline. Actress Kristen Gutoskie will play the new role.  Spoiler TV described Seline as “a warm, nurturing nanny of two young kids by day, and a small-town girl trying to find her place in a dangerous world by night.”  Joining her “new family” makes her a very protective person.

Nina Dobrev remains mum on her possible comeback. Fans had hope when Executive Producer Julie Plec mentioned that she will “bring her back at the very end”. Thus, speculations arose that Elena’s return could form a love triangle with Steroline. Why not go back to Damon? That’s because reports point out that she’ll only return if Ian Somerhalder exits the series.
