Square Enix teased a new Valkyrie Profile game; however, not much info was revealed which made fans speculate more on the game’s future. The teased game will be called “Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin” and it will still be an RPG according to the teaser website that went online just yesterday.
GameSpot reported the announcement of the new “Valkyrie Profile” game. The teaser site only provided vague details about “Valkyrie Anatomia.” The platform to which it will become available was not revealed, but it does feature the logo of the new game and a release date around Spring 2016.
However, the teaser shared some info on who will be behind the development, where it detailed that it will be produced by Yoshinori Yamagishi, music composition by Moto Sakuraba, and scenario by Daisuke “Bun-O FUJISAWA” Fujisawa. According to the translation provided by Gematsu, the game might be a smartphone exclusive as the translation “distribution” is found on the release date in the Japanese text.
This is still unofficial, though, and could mean differently. Meanwhile, some are speculating that this could only be available in Japan.
“Valkyrie Profile” was originally released for the PlayStation in 1999 which featured 2D sprites and side scrolling turn-based RPG. It was then ported to the PlayStation Portable in 2006. A sequel called “Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria” was launched for the PlayStation 2 in 2006 where it became a full 3D RPG.
The last “Valkyrie Profile” game called “Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume” was released for the Nintendo DS in 2009, where the game shifted to a strategic grid-based battle. Tri-Ace was the developer for the recent games and it seems they will be involved once again as Yoshinori Yamagishi, who was the producer for Covenant of the Plume, was listed for “Valkyrie Anatomia.”
