Motorola’s flagship smartphones have established their dominance in the market each year as they compete with other handsets from the likes of Samsung, LG, and HTC. At this time, however, details seem to still be sparse at this time except for a benchmark listing for a Motorola XT1650 that was spotted at Geekbench.
Based on the Geekbench listing, the Motorola X (2016) comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset that’s also paired with 4GB of RAM. This would likely put it in competition with the recently unveiled HTC 10 as well as the award-winning LG G5.
It also managed to cough up some impressive scores at Geekbench. For single-core tests, the Motorola X (2014) reached a strong 2309 score while its multi-score result is equally impressive at 5344. The scores are relatively the results that come in with handsets that are running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. As such, it is about equal with the LG G5 that scored 5386 and it’s also ahead of the HTC 10, which only scored 4962. However, by the numbers, it trails far from the Samsung Galaxy S7 that managed to score 6542.
Nevertheless, it’s also important to note that while it does manage to stay ahead of the HTC 10, its features and other factors are still needed to be considered. It’s still unknown as to what camera sensors it will sport, and we only have a few leaks that show the handset having a fingerprint scanner as well as a metallic build. However, Motorola does offer its handsets with the stock Android, and that puts the company at an advantage.
Now, if the Motorola Moto X Style’s announcement back in July of 2015 was any indication, we could expect that the new Moto X will launch soon this year. Furthermore, Motorola is set to make a couple of announcements on June 9. It could be the upcoming flagship or another Moto device.
