The “Uncharted movie” has been stuck in limbo for many years now that fans are wondering if the film would ever see the light of the silver screen. But could the movie have made progress by casting one of the key roles?
If Nolan North had his way, the “Uncharted movie” would have its Sullivan. North has been the voice behind the iconic Nathan Drake character.
In a recent report by GameSpot, North was quoted in saying that he wanted to play Drake. However, the “Pretty Little Liars” actor thinks he’s too old now. Also, at the pace the movie is going–which if judged by current events, is zero kilometers per hour–he would be much older when it is finally filmed/released. Hence, he joked that he could play Sullivan instead. The site provides that Sullivan is Drake’s much older partner-in-crime.
Though it was only a joke for his part, having North portray one of the key characters in the movie would be a good tribute to the “Uncharted” franchise. Now, let’s say that North indeed bags the role, who does he think should play Nathan Drake?
Chris Pratt Perfect for “Uncharted movie”
North’s interview with The Daily Star revealed that he prefers Chris Pratt for the role. Pratt is famously known for leading the “Jurassic World” film and starring in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” as Starlord.
In the interview, North was quoted as saying, “”I thought Chris Pratt would do it justice, but guess what he did it already in Guardians of the Galaxy – that was a Nathan Drake character. He’s vulnerable, he’s kinda funny, he’s kinda that hero with a smirk, cocky and confident. That scene when he says ‘I’m Starlord’ that’s such a Drake moment.”
However, the voice actor elaborated and said that Pratt turned down the role. Though there’s no certainty to that front yet, an article from GameZone expressed hope in Pratt reconsidering.
No Cameos, Please
Jokes about playing Sullivan aside, North was dead serious in saying that he has no plans of appearing in a cameo role.
“The thing is, I used to want to do it and the producers wanted me to do something in it, but the business of Hollywood dictates that you need a big name on the billboard. But I’ve told them that I really don’t want to do a cameo. I’m not going to be a guy who walks into the camera and says ‘your drink Mr Drake’. I don’t need that funny Where’s Waldo thing on my CV,” he was quoted in The Daily Star.
