“Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is taking its own sweet time to rollout and the teasers and trailers have further amped up the anticipation. Ardent gamers have been keeping an eye out for any shred of information which surfaces with regards to the title. But it is little known that “Star Wars: Force Awakens” had an imperative role to play in resolving lead writer Josh Scherr’s predicament.
While fans are crossing down days on their calendars, the makers are aware that they have to live up to the expectations. And quite naturally, they want to do their best. It is safe to say that the movie resolved any doubts that the “Uncharted 4” lead writer, Scherr may have had about bringing together the “familiar with the unfamiliar.”
He shared with New York Daily News, “I have to say, after seeing ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ I had this odd personal sense of relief.” He added, “I said, you know, maybe it is OK to blend a fair amount of familiar with the unfamiliar. While we’re obviously trying to bring all of our fans over from the PlayStation 3 games, we’re also trying to appeal to a brand new subset of people who maybe didn’t own a PlayStation 3 and now own a PlayStation 4.”
Well, “Star Wars 7” sure has been an inspiration to many including “Fast and Furious 8” director F. Gary Gray. He recently shared in an interview with Collider, “When you look at someone like J.J. Abrams who gives you the spectacle and great action set pieces but also gives you character and plotting and narrative, I think it’s my job—and my intention—to do both.”
“Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is expected to launch on April 26, 2016. Avid gamers can keep their fingers crossed that the release date doesn’t get pushed back any further. Keep coming back for more tidbits, trivia and updates on your favourite franchises.
