“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” Season 2’s latest buzz hints Jon Hamm coming back. Intrigued? Don’t be! Showrunner Robert Carlock has been trying his best to keep the spoilers secret intact. But he couldn’t stop himself from hinting of Hamm’s return as Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne—and it has created ripples.
Notwithstanding the fact that since Hamm’s character is in prison, which means during the present setting of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” he can’t come back in any capacity, but one can’t deny that he has strong future in the series. There are also solid grounds of his numerous flashbacks all throughout Season 2. “Hamm will continue to play in flashbacks,” revealed Carlock to the Hollywood Reporter. “Jon has been nice enough to lend his voice to some flashback stuff,” Carlock added.
Hamm’s return in the show is expected some other ways aside from voiceovers and flashbacks. Hinting further possibilities for Hamm’s character, Carlock said, “a wonderful animated sequence that comes up in a later episode.”
Not directly answering the query whether Hamm would be on the scene, Carlock did give some more cues. However, for the devoted fans of Hamm, who won’t be pleased with just an animated version of him, Carlock added more suspense and drama by hinting at future seasons with Hamm, “I will leave the mystery of whether the reverend’s head pops up again. We would like to see him again.” Looks like Carlock isn’t one to spill the beans candidly considering the fact Hamm’s fans will get more addicted to the hope of seeing Hamm again in full capacity. But he has given enough food for thought to the fans which would suffice to keep up their love on all through Season 2 of “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”
