UFC 207: Ronda Rousey vs Amanda Nunes Fight Date Revealed: Rousey vs Cyborg Next?

Ronda Rousey Fight

UFC 207 has announced that the event will be highlighted by Ronda Rousey vs Amanda Nunes. Former champion Ronda Rousey will be looking to make an explosive comeback to the UFC after she was thrashed by Holly Holm back in November 2015.

After more than a year on hiatus, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey will return to the Octagon on December 30, 2016. UFC 207 will be held at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be aired live on pay-per-view.

According to the official announcement made by UFC President Dana White, Rousey will be attempting to regain the UFC Women’s World Bantamweight belt from current holder Amanda Nunes. Rousey also shared the fight poster on her personal social media accounts:

The 29-year-old MMA superstar lost the bantamweight crown when she lost to Holly Holm last year. Before her devastating loss, she held the title for three straight years. In UFC 207, she aims to regain the title as well as redeem her reputation.

She came in as a heavy favorite in the match against Holm after demolishing all her previous opponents. However, when Holm knocked her out in under a minute, Rousey’s career and pride suffered an immediate plunge.

Before Rowdy Ronda can redeem herself, she would need to beat Amanda Nunes. The Brazilian champion won’t make it easy for her either. Nunes holds a 6-1 UFC record and has already defeated the likes of UFC star Miesha Tate.

MMA Weekly revealed that Dana White already has long-term plans for Rousey’s comeback. “Ronda’s plan right now is to come back and try to win her title back. If that happens, the Cyborg fight will definitely happen,” said White.

He is referring to a possible bout between Ronda and Cris “Cyborg” Justino. A fight between the two has been on high demand among UFC fans but White assures that the bantamweight title is first on the agenda.
