Fabricio Werdum will stand a chance at getting his heavyweight title in the UFC in a fight against Ben Rothwell. The pair is scheduled for a match at UFC 203 in the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. The match is set for September 10. The announcement was done during UFC Fight Night 88 main card aired on Fox Sports 1.

Yahoo Sports reported that Werdum will play on the same card as Stipe Miocic, the fighter who knocked him out and took his title at UFC 198. Miocic will fight against Alistair Overeem as they prove who deserves the heavyweight championship.

Fabricio Werdum will have the chance to reset his career after his first loss in seven fights. His match against Miocic resulted to Werdum being knocked out with just a single punch. Before that happened, the Brazilian was considered to have one of the most interesting MMA stories. After his loss in 2011 against Overeem at the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, he seemed to have changed a lot when he won six straight matches. His last victory ended with him beating Cain Velazquez in UFC 188 in June in a fight for the heavyweight title.

Ben Rothwell also had the same revival in the past several years. Rothwell won four straight fights after staying in the heavyweight division uneventfully. He was on the verge of getting a title to his name when he fought against Junior dos Santos in April. Unfortunately,  Rothwell got the title. Before that loss, Rothwell was successful in getting four straight wins against Alistair Overeem, Brandon Vera, Josh Barnett and Matt Mitrione.

Werdum is among the best heavyweight fighters, Fan Sided says. The Brazilian tried to demand a quick rematch shortly after his loss to Miocic but the UFC booked Miocic in a fight that would let him defend his title against Overeem.
