The United Arab Emirates is going to have a minister for happiness. The announcement comes from the UAE prime minister on Monday. In addition, the Arab country is going to have a minister for tolerance.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced a number of changes on social media. The UAE PM said the Minister for Happiness would have a mission to channel policies and plans to achieve a happier society. Shaikh Mohammed, who is also the Ruler of Dubai, tweeted that the Minister of Tolerance would “inculcate tolerance as a fundamental value in the UAE.”
The UAE PM announced the creation of the new post, Minister of State for Happiness. The minister will align and drive government policy to create social good and satisfaction, he tweeted.

UAE President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan a number of significant changes in the government. According to Shaikh Mohammed, the new government will have lesser number of ministries while more ministers will handle national, dynamic and strategic files.
“The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education will be merged under one minister supported by two ministers of state,” Khaleej Times quoted the PM as saying. “We will establish a new independent entity to manage public schools. UAE public schools will enjoy a great level of power and independence.”
Shaikh Mohammed also announced the creation of UAE Youth National Council which would be led by a 22-year-old female minister.
“The energy of youth will fuel our government in future,” he tweeted.
The Ministry of Health will be restructured and called the Ministry of Health and Prevention. The role of the ministry will be to focus more on the prevention of diseases, Shaikh Mohammed said. He added that the Ministry of Labour would become the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
