“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson is now the face of Dior Homme. The men’s ready-to-wear collection for FW16 is designed by Kris Van Assche and the campaign has been shot by none other than Karl Lagerfeld. It will debut in April this year.
This not Pattinson’s first brush with the high profile brand. High Snobiety reveals that the actor has been associated with the brand’s fragrance since 2012.
“We approached Robert Pattinson for the Dior Homme autumn 2016 campaign,” Sidney Toledano, chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture told WWD. “He was already the face of the Dior Homme fragrance and he was thrilled to be also the face for fashion. When we told him that Karl Lagerfeld was going to shoot the campaign, Robert was even more enthusiastic and indeed, the campaign is perfectly reflecting the spirit of Dior Homme,” Toledano added.
According to Us Weekly, this is the first time any male Hollywood celebrity has been roped in to star in fashion campaigns for Dior Homme. This is also the first time that Dior is doing a print campaign for a pre-collection, reveals WWD. Pattinson’s global campaign will make its way to pages in magazines including Esquire’s Big Black Book, GQ and Robb Report, as well as billboards outdoors, in window displays and online.
While Chanel’s Lagerfeld has shot Pattinson, his ex, Kristen Stewart is roped in to be the face of Lagerfeld’s next Chanel campaign. ANN had earlier reported that this campaign is known as Chanel 2016 Eyes Collection and is shot by photographer Mario Testino. The campaign debuts a month before Pattinson’s.
Robert Pattinson was in the news for his engagement with singer FKA Twigs. The singer recently posted a big message on her Instagram that got the tabloids and her fans in a frenzy. It was reported that FKA Twigs did not favour a grand wedding but instead wanted an open relationship with Robert Pattinson.
