“Twilight” star Kristen Stewart joins the ranks of Claudia Schiffer, Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightley, Audrey Tautou, Lily Allen and other equally dazzling ladies who have been the face of Chanel so far. It has been announced that the sultry beauty will be the face of the next Chanel campaign.
The campaign is known as Chanel 2016 Eyes Collection and will debut in March. The actress has already posed for photographs with photographer Mario Testino, informs Yahoo Lifestyle. The French fashion house said that Kristen posed for a series of portraits that incarnate the different facets of a contemporary woman for the campaign.
This is not the first time that Stewart has modelled for Chanel. Mirror UK reports that she has been the face of quite a few campaigns. She was also included in walking a Casino Royale-themed catwalk last year for Chanel.
Not only that, but Yahoo Lifestyle reports that the actress also previously starred in a short film called “Once and Forever.” This was directed by Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s creative director for the brand’s Métiers d’Art fashion show in Rome. Additionally, she was also the face of the brand’s campaign for Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection in 2013 and advertised an eyewear range in the last year.
The outspoken Karl Lagerfeld is full of praises for Stewart. According to Yahoo Lifestyle, he has mentioned that he enjoyed working with her. “I think she’s one of the greatest actors of her generation. She gives the right emotion and the right intensity immediately so it’s very easy to work her,” he said.
Kristen has posted a photograph of her upcoming campaign on Instagram, where her left hand rests on her wavy, undone hairstyle. With only an eye visible, she has captioned the image as “The new face of #chanel makeup 😏.”
