The success of “Transformers: Age of Extinction” which premiered a year ago seemed undeniable. This time, the making of “Transformers 5” is on its way. Here is everything you need to know about the cast, plot and release date.
While Deadline noted that Michael Bay might be sitting once again on the director’s chair to helm the 5th motion picture of the franchise, tthe director tweeted that everything is still unofficial.
Fans will still have to wait for further news on whether Bay will commit to the film.
As for the screenplay, it has been reported that writers did a brainstorming session for the upcoming “Transformers” franchise.
Headed by Akiva Goldsman, those writers who shared their ideas were Christina Hodson, Lindsey Beer, “Ant-Man’s” Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman, “Iron Man’s” Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, “Pacific Rim 2” writer Zak Penn, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” Jeff Pinkner, “Daredevil” creator Steven DeKnight and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, to name a few.
As to the reason behind the huge screenplay collaboration, Goldsman explained that they wanted to “beg, borrow and steal from the best of them,” referring to “Monsters”, “Star Wars” and Marvel’s writers room.
“There are good rooms around town, including the ‘Monsters Room’ at Universal, the ‘Star Wars’ room, and of course, at Marvel,” quotes another Deadline article.
“We’re trying to beg, borrow and steal from the best of them, and gathered a group of folks interested in developing and broadening this franchise,” the writer added.
The plot might be focused on Cybertron, where the good and bad Transformer robots live. Meanwhile, the release date is slated in 2017, according to IMDb. The only cast which had been listed on the site is Peter Cullen, who will be voicing Optimus Prime.
