‘Thor 3’ Movie Plot Details Revealed; Which Character Dies?

Chris Hemsworth

The third installment of Marvel’s hammer-wielding superhero is in the news yet again. “Thor 3: Ragnarok” will witness the death of its key character played by none other than Idris Elba.

Latino Review informs that this is a developing story about “Thor 3: Ragnarok.” Sources close to the publication says that Thor’s friend, Heimdall (Idris Elba), will be killed by Hela, Queen of the Dead, in a battle that will also destroy Thor’s hammer—Mjolnir.

However, this won’t be the last of Elba, who will join Thor in spirit, during the final battle with Hela. Latino Review points out that the final showdown will feature an army of the dead commanded by the villainess Hela, battling with the good Valkyries from Valhalla and the souls of the righteous fallen, including Heimdall.

The news of Heimdall’s death is not unexpected though. Those of you who watched “Avengers: Age of Ultron” would surely remember a scene that took place in a cave. This scene hinted towards what’s going to happen to “Thor 3: Ragnarok,” according to Movie Pilot. Thor had a vision where Heimdall warns Thor of “Hel.”

Geek.com, however, has another theory in place to explain Heimdall’s death. Apparently, actor Idris Elba had compared the experience of shooting for the earlier “Thor” movies “to torture.” His departure from the series via a death only confirms that his comments were not taken as an “actor’s stressful filming experience given a host of special effects scenes.”

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have a lot to look forward to. People are dying in quite a few upcoming movies. How these will weave into the “Avengers: Infinity Wars” series is something fans will have to wait and watch.

Till then, “Thor 3: Ragnarok” will keep the buzz up for itself for its amazing casting coup. Australian actress Cate Blanchett gave her nod to the movie. She will play the role of Hela, the movie’s first female villain. Watch out for any official or unofficial updates that come our way.
