Chris Hemsworth seems to be setting his sight on yet another big project after Thor 3 as the next James Bond.
Speculations are rife as to who would replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. However, Chris Hemsworth would have to take a number given the long list of contenders. Indeed, his fellow co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba are in the running for the iconic role. Earlier rumors even hinted at a feud between the actors over who should be 007. Then again, their emergence from a pre-Met Ball dinner in New York seemed to dispel the rumor.
Moreover, Elba and Hiddleston remain coy about their chances to become the next James Bond. On the other hand, Chris Hemsworth welcomed the idea that he could be the next ultimate action man, albeit from Australia. If ever, he would be the second Australian actor to bag the coveted role. George Lazenby gave life to 007 in the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
“I don’t know many who wouldn’t jump at that. Would it be scary and daunting? Of course. But what isn’t?” the Daily Telegraph cited Hemsworth’s interview with Foxtel. The actor appears on the August issue of the magazine slated for release next week. As it turns out, online betting agencies already have Hemsworth on the list of candidates. Thus, could his odds at being the next James Bond be better than that of Tom Hiddleston?
The publication recalled the highlights of Hemsworth’s career since he started on Home and Away nine years ago. His film credits to date include Thor, Avengers, The Huntsman, Red Dawn, and recently, Star Trek. Chris Hemsworth is currently busy filming Thor 3 Down Under on the Gold Coast. The actor recently hinted at different changes in the film that would be a good mix of action and comedy.
