Will the Hulk play the villain in “Thor: Ragnarok?” The Norse god of thunder and the Hulk got along pretty well in past “Avengers” films. Will all that change in the upcoming “Thor 3” movie?
According to Entertainment Tonight, the Hulk will not be a bad guy in any upcoming Marvel flick. Instead, actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, talked about the movie’s actual villain who will be played by Cate Blanchett. “She plays the worst of the worst. So evil,” Ruffalo told ET. “She is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play.” The actress will be playing Hela, a “mysterious and powerful new villain.” Fans of the “Avengers” comic books will recognize her as Death Queen.
However, Ruffalo clarified that Hulk will still play a big part in the next “Thor” movie. Or at least, his alter ego Bruce Banner would. “It’s an intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor,” the actor said. Banner’s bigger and angrier counterpart will still make an appearance though. “I think it will be smashing. You’ll see a lot more Hulk,” Ruffalo explained. “The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.”
Meanwhile, Loki, the villain from past “Thor” movies, might not stick around for future films. Or at least that’s what actor Tom Hiddleston seems to have implied to The Daily Beast. “‘Thor 3’ will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years. I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate,” the actor said. However, when asked to clarify his answer, the “Night Manager” star tried to take back what he said. “Honestly, I don’t know,” he insisted. “They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.”
