Brooklyn Beckham is gearing up to make his music debut! The 17-year-old is following his mother Victoria Beckham’s footsteps by trying his hand in the music industry. He will rap on The Vamps new album as confirmed by the band’s lead singer Brad Simpson.
“We want to get him involved. He can spit bars. He’s going to be rapping on the album, Simpson told The Sun. This is the second time Brooklyn is working with the Oh Cecilia singers. The eldest son of David Beckham previously appeared in The Vamps’ music video for Wake Up.
In the video, Brooklyn showcased his parkour skills as he jumped off a house and rolled onto the grass. Lead singer James McVey was the one who invited Brooklyn to join the band in the music video.
Chloe Moretz’s boyfriend is good friends with the members of the British band, who described Brooklyn as “crazy talented,” Metro reported. The Vamps drummer Tristan Evans also shared that the Beckham family are supporters of the band.
More recently, Brooklyn was the only celebrity given a photographer’s pass when The Vamps perform at this year’s V Festival. The gig comes months after Burberry commissioned him to be the photographer for the brand’s new fragrance campaign.
Brooklyn is not the sole member of the Beckham family that possesses mean musical skills. In April this year, Victoria posted a video of Brooklyn’s younger brother Cruz singing Twista and Faith Evans’ song Hopeful. It seems that talent does indeed run in the blood.
As for the rest of The Vamps new album, Simpson revealed the band is “probably two-thirds through the album.”
“It’s been fun. We just want to get more music out,” he added.
The Vamps new album will be the third studio release from the group, following Wake Up which was released in November 2015.
