In the Season 2 finale of The Flash, Barry Allen has travelled back in time to save his mother. Fans were left with questions left to answer in the next season. A lot will have to change in the plot of the Season 3. Tom Cavanagh, who plays Harrison Wells, reveals how much his character will be affected by Flashpoint.
Cavanagh has been given the opportunity to portray a range of characters on The CW. His latest role is that of Harrison Wells in The Flash. As of now, he has technically played four different versions of Wells, including his role of Reverse-Flash as another persona.
Many fans have theorized that since Barry also apprehended the Reverse Flash when saving his mother, this also prevented him from murdering the original Harrison Wells and stealing his identity.
But while this part still needs to be proven until Season 3 premieres, Cavanagh is already gathering buzz through his interview shared by EW on how the Flashpoint affected his character in the upcoming season. He said, “I played the original Wells on the beach with Tess (his wife). This guy won’t be that guy. If the show has strengths, I would argue that we’re not repeating ourselves generally, and specifically I’m trying not to repeat myself.”
From here, it shows that Cavanagh won’t be portraying the kind, mild mannered version of the scientist that fans have seen in the flashbacks of season 1.
Just a recap as compiled by Screenrant:
For those who have watched Season 1 of The Flash, the villain, Eobard Thawn went in disguise as Harrison Wells. He tried to kill Allen as a child but failed. This villain was the first version of Harrison Wells that the audience was introduced to. It was also in the first season where Thawne killed the real Wells. The character was also The Flash’s first major antagonist as the Reverse-Flash.
In Season 2, Wells’ fourth version was introduced to the fans of The Flash as Harrison Wells from Earth-2. His role in season 2 was to help Barry stop the evil speedster, Zoom. However, at the of the season, Wells decided to go back to his Earth together with his daughter Jesse Quick.
Fans have a lot to expect in the new season of The Flash with even more awesome moments of heroism.
The Flash season 3 will premiere Tuesday October 4 at 8pm on The CW.
