The second season finale of “The Flash” was a turning point for Barry Allen. Did his decision to go back in time and change the past cause more trouble than good? Did he unwittingly put himself and his secret identity in jeopardy?

Collider seems to think so. Some fans might think this wouldn’t exactly be a big deal. Allen has told one too many characters on the show about his speedster abilities before. However, most of Central City is still unaware that he and the Flash are one and the same. Will this really all change come Season 3?

According to TV Line’s  Michael Ausiello, the show’s producers are bringing in a character who just might uncover all of Allen’s secrets. “For Season 3, the CW hit is casting the major recurring character of Barry’s slightly older, slightly geekier contemporary,” Ausiello  wrote. The new character, he hints, would be “as smart as he is intuitive…this newcomer doesn’t buy Barry’s nice guy routine and sets out to learn what he’s hiding — all while concealing some secrets of his own.” Who this character really is remains a mystery. However, Collider thinks the new character will lead to Allen’s unmasking.

Meanwhile, actress Candice Patton, who plays Allen’s love interest Iris West, said his decision to alter the past would not affect their relationship. “Anything is possible with what Barry’s done,” Patton told News Week. “Fans are anxiously waiting to figure out if West/Allen has been erased. I think fans can rest assured, we’ve established on this show, Barry and Iris have a relationship that’s destined. They’ll find each other on different timelines and multiverses.”

However, she did say fans should watch out for the changes coming next season.”It’ll be interesting to see what Barry’s actions cause in the timeline we’ve come to know in the past two seasons,” she said.
