The wedding bells will ring this May 12 as The Big Bang Theory Season 9 airs its final episode with Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) tying the knot the second time around. Unlike the previous ceremony, Penny and Leonard’s upcoming union will follow the traditional weding
In episode 23 of The Big Bang Theory Season 9, Leonard’s mother, Dr. Beverly Hofstadter (Christine Baranski), expressed her disappointment at the couple for not inviting her to their wedding. Penny promised to make it up to her by inviting all of the couple’s family members and closest friends.
Even Sheldon’s mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), received an invite. Leonard’s father, Alfred (Judd Hirsch), is also invited even though he and his mom are divorced. But there is hope that Mary could help the estranged couple get back together.
Leonard and Penny’s first wedding was held in a Las Vegas wedding chapel. There were no witnesses, save for the guy who officiated the ceremony. It will be wonderful to see everyone gathered around to witness Leonard and Penny’s becoming husband and wife.
But the wedding is not safe from trouble. According to Inquisitr, the synopsis for episode 24, titled “The Convergence Convergence” reads that the government has called Howard and Raj to inquire about the guidance system they’ve been working on. But things end up getting blown out of proportion, and two fear that the government might arrest them for their project.
Meanwhile, Variety reports that The Big Bang Theory took a dip in ratings for its May 5 episode. According to Nielsen, the ratings for Thursday’s episode declined to 10.3% in the previous week, which saw a 29% rating. The number indicated an eight-year low for the show. Despite the decrease, the show still topped other shows in ABC, NBC and Fox.
The Big Bang Theory Season 9 finale airs on May 12 on CBS.
