The competition is getting steamier in The Bachelor 2016 Australia. It becomes controversial as well with new revelations.

It appears that the 22 ladies in The Bachelor 2016 Australia are not competing for Richie Strahan’s heart for free. In addition, the 31-year-old bachelor reportedly will end up alone after the finale.

Sydney Morning Herald wrote the ladies in the mansion are each paid $90 each day they compete for Strahan’s attention.  A source told SMH that some of the girls appeared on the show hoping to turn their fortunes around.

The publication pointed out that since the show’s filming runs for more than three months, many of the ladies had to give up their jobs. Although the show’s producers paid for accommodation, hair, makeup, wardrobe and food, the $90 a day seems small compared to the estimated $30 million revenues The Bachelor brings in to Network Ten every year.

SMH added that Richie only receives $10,000 to appear in the reality show.

Meanwhile, two more hopefuls – Laura Williams and Mia McKinnon – were sent home last week. One of them revealed that The Bachelor 2016 Australia star will end up alone after the season finale.

In an interview with NW Online, Laura was asked who will win this season of Network Ten’s reality show.  The 25-year-old project manager said no one will end up with the rope technician after the final rose ceremony.

Nikki Gogan somehow contradicted Laura’s remark in her recent interview. The 29-year-old real estate agent hinted that she won The Bachelor 2016 Australia. “When I first met him I was in his eyes immediately. And that’s something that continues … continued, continued,” she was quoted saying. Nikki scored the first kiss with Richie during their solo date in a secluded Sydney beach last week.

Aside from Nikki, Alexandra Nation and Megan Marx are also among fan favorites this season. Both received a rose from Richie during the first cocktail party.

The Bachelor 2016 Australia airs every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Network Ten.
