One of the most popular games, “Tekken 7” is about to add new characters to the Roster.
“Tekken 7” was released earlier this year in February. It is a fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment as the ninth installment in the Tekken series. The game is the first in the series to make use of the Unreal Engine.
IGN quotes, “Akuma, or Gouki as he is known in Japan, is coming in the latest update of the 3D fighter, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.”
Akuma, known in Japan as Gouki, is a fictional character from the Street Fighter series of fighting games by Capcom. Akuma made his debut in Super Street Fighter II Turbo as a secret character and hidden boss.
Adding Akuma is huge boost in the game as the new trailer shows some of his epic moves. The trailer looks promising. However, reports suggest that Akuma has not been announced for Street Fighter V’s roster.
Games Spot reports that, “A release date for this update has not been announced, but it will also include more graphical improvements and other content.”
“Bandai Namco released the trailer which shows series’ antagonist Heihachi Mishima’s wife Kazumi, who is also playable and she throws tigers, pleading with a shadowy figure to promise to kill Heihachi if she dies. He in turn promises to “repay a debt” to her.”
The fighting game is developed for Playstation 4 but the launch is currently scheduled for Japan only.
Last year Tekken celebrated its 20th anniversary and also released a trailer in the Paris games week.
It would be interesting to see how the story line develops around Akuma and how Bandai Namco would handle Street Fighter characters in the 3D style of gameplay.
