Tyler Posey has finally put to rest the rumors that he is leaving “Teen Wolf.”
In his official Twitter account, Posey slammed reports and confirmed that he would never leave the MTV show.
Speculations that Posey is leaving the series stemmed from a statement made by “Teen Wolf” showrunner Jeff Davis hinting that someone might take over Posey’s role starting season seven.
When asked about how the show will end after season six, Davis told The Hollywood Reporter: “I have no idea. Who knows if that will be the last season or not. But beyond season six, I’d love for someone else to take over the show. If it still has life, if there’s still stories to tell, that would be great – [to] see maybe Dylan Sprayberry take over the role of the Teen Wolf and see Tyler Posey move into more of a Derek Hale role.”
Fans speculate that Scott (played by Posey) and other characters who are currently senior students will graduate at the conclusion of season six. However, David had also revealed that there will be no graduation or even a prom in season 5B, which is the second half of season 5.
MTV already renewed “Teen Wolf” for season six.
Davis admitted that he was not expecting the show to last beyond season five.
“When we initially planned this, I thought season five was going to be the last season of Teen Wolf, so we were planning on going out pretty big. We’re still planning on going out big — it’s just now we’re going to get another season,” he said.
David hinted that the battles the team will face in season 5B will significantly impact season six although he admitted that the plans for season six are not being discussed as of yet.
“Usually, when someone starts to bring up season six, another person says, “I don’t even want to think about that right now,” David shared.
“Teen Wolf” airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on MTV.
