Dylan O’Brien’s ongoing recovery after meeting an accident while filming “The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” will affect the makeup of the cast of the upcoming sixth season of “Teen Wolf.”
As of the moment, MTV has not yet made any announcement about the return of “Teen Wolf” despite the show’s seasons usually debuting every June. This means the network either is considering to not have Stiles in the show while O’Brien is recovering or it is looking for a replacement for the actor, Bustle reported.
According to Creative132, however, that does not seem to be the case as they claim to have interviewed Jeff Davis, a producer on “Teen Wolf.” O’Brien is said to be considering going back to filming the werewolf show on the condition that he will be spared from doing stunts.
“No, we aren’t replacing Stiles,”” he said. “Dylan O’Brien will be back to film soon. He can’t do any stunts and we’re talking with Wes Ball, the producer of The Maze Runner, we hope to get him back on Teen Wolf to film, while being injured, but the thing is, he wants to film, he’s in perfect condition. But he’s just not doing fine enough to do any stunts.”
The producer also put the rumors of One Direction member Harry Styles replacing O’Brien though he also acknowledged that there is still a possibility that the British singer will join the show.
During April’s MTV Movie Awards, “Teen Wolf’ co-star Tyler Posey assured fans that O’Brien is fine.
“He’s okay,” Posey said. “It was very scary for a little bit – I was really worried. He’s good, he’s back home.”
Fox has previously shut down production for the adaptation of the last installment in James Dashner’s YA action-adventure novel after O’Brien got hit by a vehicle causing a “concussion, facial fracture and lacerations,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
