‘Teen Wolf’ 2016: Season 5 Premiere & Trailer on New Year 2016!

A new teaser for the much anticipated “Teen Wolf” season 5B will premiere on MTV on New Year’s Day.

According to Variety, MTV will run a marathon of its Internet video clip show “Ridiculousness” on Thursday (Dec. 31) until midnight. When the clock strikes 12 a.m., viewers will get a glimpse of a brand new six-minute teaser for the “Teen Wolf” midseason premiere.

The trailer of season 5 episode 11, titled “The Last Chimera,” will be followed by more episodes of “Ridiculousness” until 7 a.m.

Variety noted that MTV’s decision to change its annual New Year’s Eve plan of Times Square coverage sparked rumors that it was due to cost concerns amid decreasing viewership on a challenging night for all networks. However, Variety sources dismissed the speculations.

MTV usually broadcast New Year’s Eve-specific programming every year since its debut in 1981, when it aired the “New Year’s Eve Rock ‘N’ Roll Ball” live from New York’s Hotel Diplomat, Variety added.

Meanwhile, the network’s description of “Teen Wolf” season 5B teaser is quite boring, the International Business Times noted. Fortunately, showrunner Jeff Davis revealed last month that fans could expect to see Lydia (Holland Roden) investigating Theo’s (Cody Christian) past in the second half of this season.

“You see the very first image [of the premiere in the trailer]. It’s Lydia in the water approaching that bridge where Theo killed his sister. That’s one of the mysteries — Why did Theo kill his sister? — that we deal with right at the beginning of 5B. It’s a fun story,” he said

Movie Pilot, citing an interview Teen Wolf News, also quoted Davis saying that in 5B, Kira (Arden Cho) and her mom, Noshiko (Tamlyn Tomita), will come face to face with a group of skinwalkers in New Mexico.

Frequent “Teen Wolf” director Jennifer Lynch will also return to direct the episode.

“She’s back for episode 513 and we’re very happy to have her,” said Davis.

“Teen Wolf” season 5B premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 9 p.m. on MTV.
