FX released the first trailer of “Taboo” TV series and featured a sexy and gritty Tom Hardy.
According to LA Times, the network released the trailer for upcoming drama on Thursday even as production is ongoing in London.
The first official trailer of “Taboo” is dark and gritty in the real sense of it. MTV wrote it offers a glimpse at the ensuing drama, which includes some intense threats, a pig’s head on a stick, Hardy roaming the woods in a skimpy loincloth, and his chilling line “I am a very dangerous man to know.”
The series is set in 1814 and follows the life of James Keziah Delaney, a man long believed dead. He travelled the Earth before he returns to London from Africa to take over his recently deceased father’s shipping empire, only to find that his father was apparently in bed with some shady characters, Variety wrote.
“Taboo” also features Oona Chaplin (“Game of Thrones”), Michael Kelly (“House of Cards”) and Jonathan Pryce (“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”).
Aside from being the lead actor, Hardy also serves as an executive producer on the series, alongside Ridley Scott (“The Martian,” “Aliens”) and Steven Knight (“Eastern Promises”). “The Revenant” actor is also responsible for the original story “Taboo” is based on. He wrote the script with his father, Chips Hardy, who also serves as a consulting producer.
The eight-episode “Taboo” is expected to air sometime in 2017.
Hugh Jackman, who portrayed the mutant Marvel character for 15 years, believed the “Mad Max: Fury” actor would be a great actor to replace him in the role.
Meanwhile, aside from Hardy among the names being teased as the next James Bond are Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World), Damian Lewis (Homeland) and Henry Cavill (Batman v Superman).
