Design and Style

The Surface Pro 4 sports a neat 201mm x 292mm x 8.5mm magnesium-built chassis with a 12.3-inch display. On the other hand, the Surface Book sports a 13.5-inch screen in a 232mm x 312mm magnesium form factor with thickness up to 13.4mm when the keyboard is added, as shared by Gizmag.

Also, with the “dynamic fulcrum hinge” on the Surface Book when folded has a clear gap, making it a bit thicker. The snake-like hinge, however, is a really neat aspect of this convertible device. It allows users to even flip the display on its back, while connected to the keyboard.

Those accustomed to pervious Surface Pro models are probably aware that a keyboard can be purchased separately, for the device.

As for the weight on the two devices the entry-level options of the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book are 1.05kg and 1.52kg respectively.

Other Specs

The display on Surface Pro 4 boasts of a 2736 x 1824 resolution with 267 ppi. The Surface Book screen has a resolution of 3000 x 2000 with 267 ppi. Both the devices support touch and Pen input. The Pen comes in the box for both the devices.

Other details read out to be 4GB, 8GB or 16GB RAM for Pro 4 and 8GB or 16GB RAM for the Surface Book. The storage options on both the devices are the same, starting at 128GB up to 1TB.

Both Windows products feature an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing one.

For the surface book, buyers can opt for models with Core i5 or i7. The top-of the line variants of the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book come with Intel Iris (i7) and Nvidia GeForce (i5/i7) Graphics.


Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book will begin retailing on October 26 with a price tag of $1,029 with the keyboard and $1,499 respectively.
