Rumors about the Microsoft Surface Phone have increased in intensity even though the offering isn’t expected until next year. The latest is a leaked image of what is believed to be the Surface Phone in an all white shade.
Spotted on Softpedia, the image had been shared by leaker @nokibar. Reportedly, the smartphone is said to sport either a 5.7-inch or a 5.8-inch display. Other details on the rumored spec sheet read out to be a built-in QWERTY keypad. The leaked image suggests the presence of a USB 3.0 port along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a fingerprint scanner. It will be packing in quite a punch in terms of its camera module. The offering is expected to boast of a 20MP primary camera.
There is no way to confirm the authenticity of the image, you have to take the details with a pinch of salt. But many may agree that the Microsoft device gearing up to land sometime next year could probably resemble the Surface Phone in the image. The style of the device in the leaked image is similar to the current Surface tablets in the markets. The device features a keyboard akin to the Surface Touch Cover and has a kickstand mode built-in.
The Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to be launched in April 2017. Earlier reports have indicated that the release of the device had been delayed to next year since apparently the tech giants intend to deliver it as a “true alternative to a PC.” This indicates that the users will be able to use the smartphone as a laptop of sorts and the leak further reiterates this.
As shared earlier by Windows Central, the company is looking to target three segments: “Consumers,” “Business” and “Prosumer / Enthusiast.” So buyers could expect to take a pick between three variants depending on the requirements.
