Former “Wonder Woman” star Linda Carter has been confirmed to appear in “Supergirl” Season 2 and she is expected to bring more excitement on the show.
Carter will play the role of a female President of the United States, who will appear in the first episode three of season two and recur from then on, E! News wrote.
The actress is expected to lure in “Wonder Woman” fans and bring thrill since female commanders-in-chief is becoming a trend nowadays, USA Today noted.
The former Miss World America spent three seasons of ABC and CBS series “Wonder Woman” as the title hero and Diana Prince. She also made several TV appearances in the past including in “Law & Order: SVU,” “Smallville,” “Hawkeye,” and “Two and a Half Men.” The 64-year-old singer/actress also released albums, including her “Crazy Little Things” in 2011.
Carter’s role in “Supergirl” was first teased in March when executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg revealed they had a role in mind for her. The EPs had hoped Carter would appear in the first season, but the timing did not work out.
The series will also introduce “Superman,” Kara/Supergirl’s (Melissa Benoist) cousin, this season. “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Hoechlin will play the Man of Steel hero.
Carter’s appearance in DC TV series follows guest roles by superhero alums, including “Lois and Clark” star Dean Cain and “Supergirl” actress Helen Slater. The two play Kara’s adoptive parents, Entertainment Weekly noted.
Gal Gadot is currently the one whipping the Golden Lasso of Truth. She debuted in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and set to have her standalone “Wonder Woman” movie which is set to be released on June 2017. The movie will also star Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, and Chris Pine. Pine will be portraying Diana Prince’s love interest, Steve Trevor. Waggoner is playing the role in “Supergirl” TV series.
“Supergirl” is set to move from CBS to The CW this year, but will keep it Mondays at 8 p.m. time slot. The network is hoping that the show will start strong on The CW. Season 2 will premiere on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
