‘Supergirl,’ ‘The Flash’ Crossover Trailer Is Super Mysterious; Barely Shows Barry & Kara

Fans have been treated to a number of images of Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and Melissa Benoist as Supergirl meeting with each other to shoot scenes for the highly anticipated Flash/Supergirl crossover event entitled “World’s Finest.” Now, a new teaser has dropped for the March 28  “Supergirl” TV series episode and, no pun intended, it goes by in a flash.

The 10-second clip uploaded on DC Entertainment’s YouTube page begins with The Flash moving at superhuman speeds in and around the Supergirl S-shield and then coming to a stop to face Kara/Supergirl who lands down on the ground hard from the skies. The teaser ends by announcing the March 28 date of the superhero event on CBS channel. It’s nothing much, really. Just something to get the fans excited. Variety previously posted an official poster for the crossover event with the comic book style fonts as a direct homage to the “Superman” issue 199.

The story of the special crossover episode, released on the CBS website is as follows:

“In the episode entitled ‘World’s Finest,’ Supergirl joins forces with a lightning-fast—and super dreamy—hero, The Flash (Grant Gustin), to take out two villains. Lost and confused after spiraling from his universe and landing in Kara’s, The Flash asks for her help in finding his way back home.

Excited to finally come face-to-face with one of the good guys, Kara agrees on one condition: The super-runner has to help her take down her ultra-competitive co-worker and screeching malefactor Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Supergirl’s old nemesis, Livewire.

Packed with action, excitement, and a bit of super-flirting, this is an episode you do not want to miss. Make sure to tune-in to Supergirl on Monday, March 28 at 8/7c on CBS.”

From the synopsis, it appears that there is plenty of excitement in store for fans of both “The Flash” and “Supergirl.” A bigger trailer is expected to be released as the airing date nears, perhaps when “Supergirl” Season 1, episode 17 called “Manhunter” and “The Flash” Season 2, episode 16 called “Trajectory” airs on March 21 and 22, respectively.
