Apparently Coldplay’s front man Chris Martin just could not wait to get to San Francisco for the Super Bowl weekend. He was so excited that he ended up on the side of a road, trying to hitchhike. And who better to pick the British singer up than James Corden.
In the latest installment of Carpool Karaoke on the Late, Late Show Martin and host Corden have fun. They belted out some Coldplay ran favorites. Among the songs sang are “Adventure of a Lifetime,” “Yellow,” “Viva La Vida,” “Paradise,” “A Sky Full of Stars,” and “Fix You.” The pair also ended up singing a tribute to the late David Bowie. They sang the late singer’s hit “Heroes.” This, despite reports that Bowie once turned down a collaboration with Coldplay.
“It’s not a very good song, is it?”Bowie said of the collaboration, according to Independent.co.uk.
Carpool Karaoke has proven to be a huge hit for the show. Previous guests on the segment include Adele, One Direction, Justin Bieber and Stevie Wonder. Adele’s Carpool ride with Corden became viral on YouTube. Reports say that part 2 may even be in the works. According to Independent.co.uk, Corden’s next Carpool guest will be Sir Elton John.
Coldplay will perform at the halftime show of Super Bowl 50. The British rock band will be joined by Beyonce. The video for their latest collaboration, “Hymn For The Weekend,” was released late last month. In it, Beyonce was shown dressed as a Bollywood goddess. The video sparked a debate over “cultural appropriation.”
The Super Bowl will be held this Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Aussie fans can catch the action on Monday, 10:30am. US Sports Down Under earlier came out with a list of the best places in Australia to watch the game. You can check it out here.
