Netflix has yet to confirm Stranger Things Season 2 despite the fans’ big demand for it. But should the streaming provider refuse to renew the show (fans aren’t hoping for this), will a musical be possible? After all, these kids have great minds and talents.

Mike and his friends instantly captured the fans’ attention with their amazing friendship and adventures together. Their group definitely reminded viewers of their childhood friendships. While fans are all screaming for a second season, Netflix has yet to issue a go signal. Without any news on a second seasons, there have been rumours and speculations on its cancellation.

For Netflix Boss Reed Hastings, there’s nothing to worry about. Cancellation shouldn’t be on anyone’s minds, according to him.  He argued that Netflix would be “dumb not to” renew Netflix’s Summer hit series. Furthermore, he added that fans will likely have an impact on how Netflix will decide on the show’s fate.

“Because we don’t have advertising we are under a whole different model to not compare all the shows and rank other shows, because it kind of doesn’t matter what everybody loves the most it matters what you or I love most,” Hastings told The Guardian.

While fans remain hopeful, Movie Pilot noted that a musical can also work for Mike and his gang. Gaten Matarazzo and Millie Bobbie Brown can definitely land that musical role.

Before landing his role as Dustin on Stranger Things, Gaten Matarazzo was part of broadway productions Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Les Misérables. Check out Gaten singing “Bring Him Home” from Les Misérables in the video below.

Likewise, Millie Bobbie Brown loves the idea of singing with Gaten. The actress earlier revealed how Gaten has an amazing voice.

“Yes, he has a phenomenal voice. You know, he was on Broadway for, I think, about a year. I was like, ‘Wow! I’m from London; I’ve never had a singing lesson in my life.’ And he’d come to our house in Atlanta, and we loved to practice and harmonize together. It was really cool to find someone in this industry who loves to sing.”

With a voice like Millie’s, she and Gaten can perfectly sing a duet together. Watch her in the video below:

It looks like actors Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard and Joe Keery will fit into the musical too.

Would you consider Stranger Things Season 2 as a musical instead?
