A brand new “Stranger Things” trailer is here. The new eight-episode series will make its way to Netflix in July. It stars none other than Winona Ryder.

Ryder, who led a more obscure life after her shoplifting scandal, made on and off appearances in a few indie projects. She did some cameos and supporting roles in “Star Trek” and “Black Swan.” However, the actress once again courts the limelight with “Stranger Things.”

“Stranger Things” will air on Netflix in July. It is an eight part series that takes the viewers back to the eighties states The Daily Telegraph. Life in a small, laid back Indiana town is disrupted when a 12-year-old boy disappears. Ryder plays the mum of the missing child. According to The New Daily, she fits the bill as a desperate mother, who would even by-pass authorities to find her son.

“Ninety-nine out of a 100 times, if a kid goes missing, the kid is with a parent or relative,” says the Indiana sheriff. He is shown talking to a visibly stressed Joyce, the boy’s mum played by Ryder. “What about the other time?” she asks.

The scene leaves the audience wondering about how much Ryder’s Joyce actually knows. The spooky trailer gives out the tone and the direction of the series. So we know, that what starts with one kidnapping inflates into a full-blown evil government conspiracy, supernatural forces and mystery.

Ryder makes it back to the spotlight after years. Once a darling of cinema, the actress has worked with some of the best in Hollywood. However, despite giving a number of hits, her life crumbled into pieces on account of drugs and depression.

Her shop-lifting scandal seemed to be the last nail in the coffin. However, the actress is back and Netflix seems to be the best platform for her. Netflix has already helped rebuild careers of many stars including Ashton Kutcher and Jane Fonda.
